The Self Build Eco Den
From Alternative Space

Alternative Space Ltd build garden rooms of the highest quality, using the best materials to create products which embody a commitment to environmentally conscious design.

In addition to the existing ‘Classic’ range, the company offers Eco Den, a self build garden room kit.

Eco Den is a purpose designed outbuilding which provides a dry, warm, well insulated annexe for year round use. A low cost way to increase the size and flexibility of your home without moving house, and without the disruption and expense of a loft conversion, a cellar conversion or a home extension.

Eco Den’s self-build options bring the cost of owning a high quality garden room within the range of almost every home owner. In addition, Eco Den has the distinct advantage that it can be dismantled and reassembled if you move house.

Eco Den is available as a self build, a partial self build or, if you prefer the Alternative Space Team can do the full installation.

Living Roof

All our units come with the option of a living roof, an environmental plus, the perfect insulation for both summer and winter, attractive to wildlife and ideal in a garden setting.

 

Size Options
The Eco Den range comprises three standard sizes with internal measurements of 2m x 2.4m, 2.4m x 2.4m and 2.4m x 3.6m. Other sizes are available on request.

Furniture

We also supply an integrated modular furniture system which has been specifically designed to make the best use of the Eco Den’s internal space, from both an ergonomic and anthropometric perspective. The furniture system includes, work surfaces, shelves, floor standing drawer units and cupboards as well as a range of desk mounted storage boxes. The furniture can be combined with electrical and lighting services in a wide variety of formats to create a perfect office or studio space.


Additional External Features

Sedum Roof
A ‘must have’ feature which replaces the garden occupied by the Eco Den with a natural habitat, improves the appearance of the Eco Den and provides additional insulation.

Rain Water Harvesting
The harvesting system gathers rain water for use in the garden, especially useful during times of drought.

Decking Extensions
Decking is available in two standard depths which fit across the front and sides of the Eco Den.

Open Pergola (for use in conjunction with decking)
A pergola provides a screen for extra privacy. Cover it with climbers to blend the Eco Den with its surroundings or glaze the pagoda for year round use of the decking area. As with decking, modules are available in two depths.
Front Canopy Lighting Kit

Three to five spot lights (depending on the module) are mounted into the over hanging roof at the front of the Eco Den, to provide external lighting.
